Japanese colonial administrative building completed in 1912 to serve as the Fangliao Subprefecture (枋寮支廳) headquarters, housing police and government offices. In 1914 it became the base of operations for the Southern Aborigine Suppression Squad (南蕃搜查隊枋寮本部) during the suppression of a Paiwan uprising. Registered as a historic building in 2022; until recently the structure was hidden behind buildings constructed in front of it at a later date.
