The ruins of an old Shinto shrine along the Jinshuiying Old Road (浸水營古道), an important trail connecting Pingtung to Taitung dating back to the late Qing dynasty period. It was likely established around 1926 next to the police garrison (出水坡駐在所) of the same name. The original Japanese reading of the name is not known with certainty but the Paiwan name for the area is Kilao or Rilao.
