Completed in October 1927, this district shrine (鄉社) was located at the foot of Baguashan (八卦山). Traces of the old shrine can still be found along the Baguashan Literature Learning Trail (八卦山文學步道). Taiji Pavilion (太極亭) is where the main hall used to stand. There is also an old storage building near the base of the trail that was associated with the shrine and later used as a residence. Peer through the overgrowth and you might be able to make out the distinctive Japanese style rooftop. Also referred to as Baguashan Shinto Shrine (八卦山神社) in some sources. Known as Shōka-jinja in Japanese.
