A shophouse outside the north gate of Changhua City that housed a Japanese colonial era trading company dealing in oils, household goods, and insurance. It was built around 1930 by Tu Hsi-kuei (杜錫圭), who became the first democratically elected mayor of the city in the post-war era. The owner demolished it without warning in January 2017, weeks after it was nominated for heritage review and shortly after Daxin Pineapple Canning Company met the same fate. The county registered the ruins as a historic building in 2018 but the courts overturned this in 2019, and the site has since been cleared.
