Established in the Japanese colonial era as Soton-gekijō (草屯劇場), this was an impressive venue for traditional opera and performance in Caotun, Nantou. In the post-war period it was renamed and continued to operate for a period of time. It was eventually demolished and replaces by small shops now lining the street. Allegedly located next to what is now a jewelry store (金瑞成珠寶銀樓) at Bishan Road (碧山路) and Taiping Road Section 2 (太平路二段).
