Zhongli Zhongyi Temple (中壢忠義祠) - Spectral Codex
中壢忠義祠

A temple honoring a group of Qing dynasty soldiers who were killed in this vicinity in the chaos that followed the 1895 Treaty of Shimonoseki and the subsequent Yiwei War. Two original komainu from the former Zhongli Shinto Shrine were relocated here in 1950; the back of each pedestal is inscribed with dates matching the shrine’s October 1939 inauguration. The temple was most recently rebuilt in 1976.
