Established in October 1922, this might have been a community-funded yōhaijo (遙拜所), or remote worship shrine, with no actual kami enshrined. It was later superseded by the official Zhongli Shinto Shrine on the northwest side of the urban core of the city. Not too much is known about this shrine apart from the location across from the former Zhongli Public School, now Zhongli Elementary School (中壢國小). Zhongli was then known as Chureki in Japanese.
