An aqueduct completed in 1921, more than a decade before the rest of the Sun Moon Lake Hydroelectric Project was ready to go online. It was originally constructed with only reinforced concrete pylons elevating the waterway leading into the short Xiangtian Canal (向天圳); American engineers visiting the site recommended supporting the pylons with arches, which were added later. It is still in use as one of two aqueducts traversing this valley, which is the last place water diverted by Wujie Dam surfaces before entering Sun Moon Lake.
