Whiteman Toothpaste Tourism Factory (白人牙膏觀光工廠) - Spectral Codex

Whiteman Toothpaste (白人牙膏) is a brand made by Jialian Industrial (嘉聯實業), its name a deliberate foil to the older Darlie brand, sold in Chinese as Heiren (黑人牙膏), literally “Black Man Toothpaste”. A trademark dispute between the two firms ran for eleven years before ending in Whiteman’s favour. The company opened this factory in Shuishang in 2010 as Taiwan’s first toothpaste tourism factory, where visitors watch the production line through glass and leave with free samples and red-bean popsicles. Aside from the toothpaste production line the facility also features reconstructed Qing dynasty mansions, antique street scenes, and a lurid tableau of the ten courts of hell (十殿閻羅).
