A guesthouse reportedly prepared for Chiang Kai-shek within what is now Chinan National Forest Recreation Area (池南國家森林遊樂區), though it is unclear whether he ever actually stayed here. The nearby Hualien Farm Guesthouse (花蓮農場招待所) is rumored to be his more likely residence when visiting the area. The park seems to make no mention of the guesthouse.
