Two small buildings in the parkland on the northern side of Liyutan are all that remains of a commercial complex built by Japanese businessman Yoshimura Sahei (吉村佐平) sometime in the late colonial era. This complex was originally located in downtown Hualien City, but after these remaining buildings were rediscovered as part of a new development, they were relocated here for safekeeping.
