Yau Tsim Mong (油尖旺區) is the core urban area of Kowloon, with a population of around 307,000. The district name abbreviates its three main neighborhoods: Yau Ma Tei, Tsim Sha Tsui, and Mong Kok. The area was formerly two separate districts until they were merged in 1994.
