Kowloon City (九龍城區) is a district in Kowloon with a population of around 419,000. It contains the site of the former Kowloon Walled City, an ungoverned enclave that was demolished in 1993 and replaced with a park. The district also borders the former Kai Tak Airport, which operated until 1998 and is now being redeveloped.
