Known locally as Dajiangye Temple (大將爺廟), this temple in Lukang venerates Dajiangye (大將爺), identified with Liu Ting (劉綎), a Ming general killed fighting the Manchus, whose incense is said to have been brought from the mainland during an epidemic. The county gazetteer records its construction in 1815; it took in the images of the Western Tudigong Temple (西方土地公廟) in 1934, only to be demolished itself in 1937 for Japanese colonial street improvements (a common pretext for suppressing Taiwanese folk religious sites). Rebuilt at its present site in 1948 under its present name, it also enshrines the underworld generals Xie and Fan (范謝將軍) and the constables Niuye (牛爺), Maye (馬爺), Jiaye (枷爺), and Suoye (鎖爺).
