Established in 1912 in the countryside south of central Douliu, Yunlin, and expanded in the years that followed. It escaped allied bombing during World War 2 and was quickly put back into service. Sugar was produced on this site until the mid-1990s, after which parts of the original factory have been dismantled, with the rest left idle for many years. The site was recognized for its heritage value in 2008 and as of 2024 it seems like the county government is finally getting around to revitalizing the old factory.
