A late-1930s Japanese-style villa built along Beitou Creek in a manner typical of the surrounding hot-spring district with a thermal bath set inside the house. A wartime reinforced-concrete underground air raid shelter was added in the garden against the threat of American bombing. The villa is popularly tied to the calligrapher Yu Youren (于右任), who is said to have summered here from 1952, though this association is highly disputed. Household records indicate this was the residence of Feng Zhongxuan (馮中煊), also known by his pen name Meiting Sanren (梅庭散人), who bought it in 1956. Registered as a historic building in 2006, it was restored and reopened in 2010 as a visitor center and cultural space.
