A roughly 3-meter-tall concrete monument stands in a cemetery about 800 meters north of Baiduan Village (白端部落), also known as Silupatun in Bunun, along County Road 75. The inscriptions have been covered with cement but faint katakana characters are still visible. During the Japanese era, Indigenous communities in this area were required to abandon traditional burial practices and adopt outdoor cremation, with ashes placed in funerary monuments like this one.
