Longgang Theater (龍岡戲院) is a former cinema and multi-function events venue in suburban Zhongli, Taoyuan. When it opened in 1960 it was formally named Jieshoutang Theater (介壽堂戲院), with the common name derived from its location around the military bases of the First Field Army (陸軍第一野戰軍團), generally known as Longgang. It screened films for decades before undergoing a period of idleness. More recently it was lightly refurbished and rebranded as Longgang Cultural Activity Center (龍岡文藝活動中心).
An old military cinema in suburban Zhongli.
Deep blue skies over the refurbished activity center. There’s a very good chance the theater wasn’t always covered in these plain tiles.
One of two pairs of ticket windows in the long shadows of afternoon.
An oblique look at the ticket windows showing some interesting decorative ironwork.
Military murals along the side of the theater.
