One of 38 police garrison posts along Guanshan Traversing Trail (關山越嶺古道). This particular garrison was charged with keeping watch over Bunun anti-Japanese resistance leader Dahu Ali (拉荷·阿雷) and his fighters, all of whom were encamped in the mountains immediately to the north for 18 years. As such, this post was especially large and important. Although not much remains of the original garrison the site is located along a regular train with informational plaques about its history. There are also the remains of charcoal kilns along the trail; these were used for heating.
