Indigenous Ancestral Birthplace Monument (臺灣山地人祖先發祥地碑) - Spectral Codex
臺灣山地人祖先發祥地碑

A stone monument erected in 1960 by the Puyuma (卑南族) people of Zhiben to mark their ancestral origin site. According to Puyuma creation myth, five siblings survived a great flood by floating in a wooden mortar and landed at Lufaan (陸發安), near a bamboo grove between Sanhe and Huayuan along the South-Link Highway. The inscription reads “Birthplace of Taiwan’s Mountain People Ancestors”.
