The primary POW memorial in northern Taiwan. Located on the former site of the notorious Kinkaseki POW Camp (金瓜石戰俘營), which operated from December 1942 to March 1945. 523 POWs were interned here, forced into copper mining, and only 89 survived. A memorial was erected on site in 2005 to honor the 60th anniversary of the end of the war.
