Taiwan’s first eco-museum, opened in 2004 on the site of the former Taiwan Metal Mining Corporation facilities. The open-air museum preserves several historic buildings including offices, dormitories, and processing plants, along with Benshan No. 5 Tunnel. Exhibits cover the history of gold mining in the region, the Japanese colonial era, and the World War 2 POW camp.
