白沙

Baisha

Baisha (白沙), named for its long white sand beaches, is the northernmost township in Penghu and spans seven inhabited and some twenty uninhabited islands, more than any other township in the county. Bridges link it to Huxi on the main island and, by way of the Penghu Great Bridge (澎湖跨海大橋), to Xiyu. Its heritage sites include Chengjing Hall, founded in 1856 as the first zhaitang (齋堂) in Penghu, and the Xu Mou Residence, completed in 1932 for a local man who prospered in the rice trade in Pingtung.
