After the establishment of the extensive Formosa Chemicals & Fibre Company Yilan Plant in the 1970s, a commercial strip along Sanhuang Road (三皇路) developed that reputedly included a movie theater. The name and operating history of this theater is otherwise unknown, but it seems highly credible given that the factory employed nearly 4,000 people in the early 1970s, many of them living in factory dormitories. No candidate building is evident on satellite maps extending back to 2004. On-site inspection and conversation with local residents would be needed to substantiate the location of the former site.
