A monument on Provincial Highway 9 commemorating Zhōng Ruìlóng (鍾瑞龍), who died at age 28 saving several people from flooding along Matai’an Creek (馬太鞍溪) when Typhoon Nora (颱風娜拉) struck on October 10, 1973. His body was never recovered. Originally a modest stone stele erected by townspeople in 1974, it was relocated and rebuilt on a larger scale when the highway was widened.
