General Baokeng Shrine (保坑大將軍) - Spectral Codex
保坑大將軍

Originally a decorative Indian soldier statue displayed at a Taipei nightclub founded by Gao Lingfeng (高凌風) in the 1990s. The nightclub was dismantled after it closed but one of the construction workers relocated the statue to rural Douliu, Yunlin. In 1998, a Singaporean soldier participating in Project Starlight (星光計畫) exercises died nearby, and locals came to believe his spirit inhabited the statue. After a 2014 consecration ceremony involving the Water Resources Agency, it became known as General Baokeng and is worshipped as a protective deity for Hushan Reservoir (湖山水庫).
