A historic single-lane tunnel through the Coastal Mountain Range in Chenggong, Taitung. Originally constructed in 1929 as an irrigation canal (小馬埤圳) by Amis Indigenous workers under Japanese colonial rule, it was expanded for vehicle traffic in 1932. Known as Taiyuan Tunnel (泰源隧道) during the post-war period, it was designated a historic building in 2002 and restored to its original name in 2004 at the behest of the local community. The original canal still flows beneath the roadway.
