Not much is written about the former shrine in this town at the gateway to Alishan, but it was likely located within Zhuqi Park (竹崎公園) and established by the mid-1930s, and probably even earlier than that. It was also likely to be a *yōhaijo (遙拜所), or remote worship shrine, with no actual kami enshrined. The komainu can be found at the nearby Zhenwu Temple. Known as Takesaki Yohaijo in the original Japanese.
