A former Shinto shrine built in the high mountains of Hualien County along the old Xilin Light Railway (西林輕便鐵道). It was not listed in any official histories and the site has returned to nature but there are apparently some traces in the area. One site identified in a 1993 expedition is situated next to a cableway embarkation point, but there are doubts about whether this was truly a shrine. Location is not precise; you’d need to hike for days to reach this place. Hatsumi is typically romanized as Chujian in Chinese.
Warning: this location is abandoned, hazardous, or otherwise neglected and may be unsafe and even dangerous! Exercise appropriate precautions when visiting.
