Old Highway 11 Tiaolang Section (舊台11線跳浪路段) - Spectral Codex
舊台11線跳浪路段

Once considered the most scenic stretch of Provincial Highway 11 along the east coast, this section between Yanliao and Shuilian was the last segment completed when the highway opened in 1968. Named for the local practice of leaping over waves to travel the coast before the road existed, the Tiaolang section was abandoned after 2008 when bypass tunnels were constructed inland to avoid the chronic rockslides and erosion of the geologically unstable Baliwan Formation (八里灣層). The old road, including Bridge No. 13 (十三號橋) and the Tiaolang Tunnel (跳浪隧道), is now completely closed and overgrown. Exercise extreme caution when exploring this section.
