A single-classroom branch of Yongding Elementary School (永定國小) established in 1953, when mining and forestry supported enough families in this corner of Shiding to justify posting a teacher here rather than sending children more than three kilometers to the main campus. It relocated beside Gongcheng Bridge (共成橋) in 1974, was downgraded to a branch class as mining activity declined and transportation connections impvorved, and finally closed in 1996 with one pupil left on the roll. The classroom stands behind a shrine to Tudigong and is now swallowed by bamboo and silvergrass. A blackboard and a reed organ remained inside as of 2022, arousing the attention of curious hikers.
