A resort hotel begun in the early 1970s on the grounds of Nakagusuku Castle by developer Takara Hajime (高良一), timed to coincide with the 1975 Okinawa International Ocean Expo. Construction was halted when the builder went bankrupt and access roads were absorbed into the castle’s cultural protection zone following Okinawa’s reversion to Japan. The unfinished complex sat abandoned for more than four decades, attracting the attention of the haikyo or urban exploration community. Demolition began in May 2019 after protracted compensation talks with the owner, with the site folded back into Nakagusuku Castle Park.
