A remote alpine Shinto shrine on the summit of Mount Dabajian (大霸尖山), on the border of Miaoli and Jianshi in Hsinchu, a peak that also features on the NT 500 banknote. Not much is known about its precise location or ultimate fate but there are no reports of finding any relics at the summit in modern times. The mountain, known as Papak Waqa in the Tayal language, is sacred to the Indigenous Tayal and Saisiyat peoples and climbing the summit block has been prohibited since 1989, so perhaps something remains of it. It was known as Taihasenzan in Japanese and the name of the shrine is sometimes given simply as Taiha-jinja (大霸神社).
