A former police station established along the Syakaro Historic Trail (霞喀羅古道) at 1,630 meters altitude in 1922. It was one of the main administrative centers in this rugged mountainous area during Japanese colonial times. In the post-war era it was renamed and eventually rebuilt in 1969. Long abandoned, it was rediscovered in 2009 and the site has been cleaned up for the enjoyment of hikers.
