A former Japanese colonial era kamikaze airfield later converted for use as a Nike-Hercules missile battery in the post-war era. It was decommissioned in the late 1970s and subsequently abandoned to the elements. More recently, in the mid-2020s, the Ministry of National Defense has cleaned up the site to prepare for reactivation.
