China (中国) is the world’s most populous country and the third-largest by area, spanning an enormous range of landscapes, climates, and cultures across its vast territory. My only visit was a brief layover in Shanghai in 2016, long enough to wander some of the older neighbourhoods before they disappeared under the wrecking ball.
