Nanzhuang Plane Wreckage Site (沉睡於山中的海狸) - Spectral Codex
沉睡於山中的海狸

On May 3rd, 1979, a U6-A reconnaissance plane crashed into the side of Sanjiaohu Mountain (三角湖山) near Xiangtian Lake (向天湖) while on a routine training mission. While Captain Chen Gaocai (陳高才) escaped with serious injuries, Major Liu Chuanji (劉傳集) perished in the crash. The wreckage was rediscovered in the 2010s and could still be found in the forest off Lalumuwan Cultural and Ecological Trail (啦魯姆萬文化生態步道) for a time, widely popularized as the Beaver Sleeping in the Mountains (沉睡於山中的海狸), after a nickname of the type of plane. In 2019 a ceremony was held on site with the widow of the deceased pilot and the wreckage was transported down the mountain. The site is located in the mountains of Nanzhuang, Miaoli.
