Dayuan Elementary School (大元國小) - Spectral Codex

One of three elementary schools built for children of forestry workers in and around the mountains in Yilan in the early post-war era. This one opened in 1952 and operated until dwindling attendance forced its closure in 1973. Due to the difficulty of arranging transportation in the remote mountains the school also provided boarding for children, so the site was fairly extensive. This is not an easy place to visit given trail conditions, but it seems possible based on reports by serious hikers. Prepare accordingly!
