An important Cold War radio facility in Tainan. For decades it broadcast over shortwave radio to the entirety of the People’s Republic of China, but heading into the 21st century, it was increasingly seen as an anachronism and eventually abolished under the Ma administration in 2013. Since then the facility has been mostly abandoned, although there is occasionally talk of cleaning up the site and turning it into a historic attraction of some kind.
