Manila is the capital of the Philippines and one of its most historic cities. With 22 million people in the surrounding metropolitan area it is also one of the world's most populous areas. Despite its notorious reputation there's actually a lot of history, culture, and great food and drink to experience, and the people are generally very friendly and welcoming.
