The only remaining Japanese colonial era dormitory next to Nanpu Elementary School (南埔國小) in Nanzhuang, Miaoli. Initially there were several dormitories on this site, but they were so heavily damaged by the 1935 Hsinchu-Taichung earthquake that they were rebuilt. This one was in active use until the year 2000, and it has been neatly restored since.
