An abandoned elementary school in the vicinity of the Indigenous settlement of Tjacupu in Dawu District, Taitung. Originally established in 1912 as Dazhu Aboriginal Children’s Education Center (大竹高蕃童教育所), it was reorganized as a public school in 1925, became Dazhu Elementary School (大竹國民小學) in 1968, was downgraded to a branch of Daniao Elementary School (大鳥國小) in 1996. It finally closed in 1999 and has been abandoned ever since. The building currently on site has the appearance of a school constructed in the late 1980s or 1990s.
