A small Shinto shrine established as early as 1934 in the Amis Indigenous village of Folalacay. Perhaps due to its remoteness there is broad disagreement about its exact date of enshrinement (with estimates ranging from 1934 to 1940) or naming history. The settlement was previously known as Chengguang’ao Shrine (成廣澳) or simply Guang’ao (廣澳) and likely renamed in 1937 along with many other communities in eastern Taiwan. The shrine was mostly destroyed after the war; you may be able to locate the broken base of an old stone lantern hidden in the grass, but most reports indicate the rest is lost.
