Changhua (彰化) is a triangular county in central central Taiwan bordering the big city of Taichung to the north, the mountainous Nantou to the east, Yunlin to the south, and the Taiwan Strait to the west. Its capital is Changhua City, located where the end of the Bagua Mountains slide beneath the plains, and Yuanlin is its fastest-growing urban center. Lukang is undoubtedly the foremost attraction in Changhua; this historic coastal town was one of the most important centers of trade and commerce for much of the Qing dynasty era.
